What you need to know before taking that shot!

We are no stranger to COVID Vaccines, it has been introduced to us countless of times and encouraged to us a dozen times, and yet let me ask you, do you have enough knowledge in taking the shot? I myself had been quite ignorant when I took the shot, I was just simply informed that "The Vaccine is effective and will help". I was not properly informed and I think that no matter the age everyone should be properly informed of whatever substance a being will intake. And so, I write this blog in hopes for sharing what everyone should know before taking the shot.

COVID vaccines are important as your  body begins producing antibodies against the coronavirus.These antibodies help your immune system fight the virus if you happen to be exposed, so it reduces your chance of getting the disease. Vaccines differ in their composition and how they trigger the immune response to create antibodies. These antibodies protect the body from microorganisms and serve as protection once a person gets infected with disease. Vaccines can be inactivated, weakened or killed copies of the whole or part of the virus or bacteria, or genetic product (like mRNA vaccines) that creates protein copies without causing disease. It is true that you can still become infected after being vaccinated, but once more of the population is vaccinated, those chances are further reduced due to herd immunity. The vaccines are tested and proven to be safe for teens and adults, recently, vaccines for children are available as well. There are recorded side effects in getting vaccinated, but the more serious ones are uncommon. 

Getting vaccinated is critical for your and everyones safety. Getting vaccinated  will increases herd immunity and will reduce the chance of acquiring the disease, that is why it is strongly  encouraged by the government that everyone  should take the shot in order for us to be safe from COVID. Through the information shared, we could say that protection and safety from COVID is all about team effort and unity of the country, and so, I encourage everyone to take that shot!.
